It seems as though Megan Denise Fox has always known what she wanted. She admitted that she was around four or five years old when she first watched the movie The Wizard of Oz and decided she wanted to be Dorothy. Actually, Megan insisted her family call her by the name. When her mom explained Dorothy was a character played by an actress, Megan knew she had to make it to Hollywood.
Although Megan Fox is now one of the biggest actresses in Hollywood, things weren’t always that way.
In fact, the Hollywood star admits she was bullied throughout her years at school. Apparently, this was all thanks to Megan being able to get along with boys more than girls.
Overcoming her obstacles
Megan admitted the bullying was never in regard to her looks, but she was also facing trouble with a type of brachydactyly. This is a form of shortening that occurs in the fingers and toes, and meant the actress was born with a clubbed thumb. Now, one of Megan’s thumbs is noticeably shorter than the other and has a much smaller nail. Thankfully, entering high school was about to mark a huge change for the future star as she began her rise to fame.
A change to modeling
This youngster had been training in drama and dance since she was young, and now it looked as though all her years of effort were about to pay off. Megan had entered the American Modeling and Talent Convention for many years where she was able to walk away with a variety of awards. It was her time on the stage that earned Megan the attention of local modeling agencies who couldn’t wait to sign up the next biggest star of the world.
A major move
Megan had grown up in The South most of her life, but that was all about to change when she was a young teenager. Now, the aspiring model was about to move to Los Angeles – the home of many stars from all around the world. Megan admitted she had never believed in formal education and couldn’t wait to get away from school. At last, she would be free to focus on her goal of making it to the big screen – just like Dorothy.
First appearance on the big screen
It was in 2001 that Megan was able to land her first movie role. The romantic adventure movie Holiday in the Sun may have starred the super famous Olsen Twins, but it was also about to welcome Megan Fox to the world of Hollywood. At last, she could get the chance to see what it was like to work alongside some of the biggest names in the business, but would it be too much for the youngster? She had the looks and the skills, but Megan needed the personality and resilience if she was going to make it.
Forging her career
Although Megan continued to work towards her goal of making it as a star, it wasn’t until 2004 that she was able to land her first major role. Megan starred opposite Lindsay Lohan in the musical comedy movie Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, landing the part of the popular girl at school. It was a massive ask for the actress who had grown up as the underdog, but the movie was able to take home $33 million at the box office. It seemed as though it was going to be a hit.
Meeting her match
At last, Megan was getting the roles she wanted. The actress secured parts in the sitcoms Two and a Half Men, The Help, and Boss Girl. However, it was Megan’s role as Sydney Shanowski in the sitcom Hope and Faith that was about to change her life. The actress joined the show in 2004 at 18 years old and was soon introduced to Brian Austin Green. Although he was 30 years old at the time, it wasn’t long before they started to date.
Climbing the career ladder
Starring role on a hit sitcom? Check. Handsome older man on her arm? Check. Becoming the name that everyone wants in their production? Check. It seemed as though Megan Fox had everything she had ever dreamed about. Life was perfect. The young actress was now sporting her dark locks that made her blue eyes stand out more than ever whenever she turned up on the red carpet. She might have been young, but Megan was quickly learning how to work the crowd.
A star in the making
2007 quickly rolled around, and it was time for Megan to take the next biggest leap in her career. She was about to sign up to a role in the sci-fi action movie Transformers. No longer was Hollywood looking at a young, freckle-faced actress. No, the world was about to see a sophisticated version of Megan Fox who knew that her appearance could sell. However, it was this that angered the actress. She wanted to be noticed for her skills, not her looks.
Returning to the hit
By the time it was 2009, Megan had been engaged to Brian for two years. Unfortunately, rumors of their split soon emerged and it looked as though Hollywood’s it couple were no more. That still didn’t stop Megan from taking everything in her stride. As well as returning for the sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the actress was appearing at all the major events around the world and was just about everywhere anyone looked.
Growing into her look
Megan was starting to fall in love with the glamorous side of Hollywood as the actress opted for bouncing curls and eye-catching dresses for any occasion. To top it off, Megan admitted she had always remained engaged to Brian, and the pair were set to get married. It wasn’t just her love life that had this star in the headlines, though. She was continuing to amaze the world with appearances in movies such as the Western supernatural Jonah Hex, and the animated action movie Naya Legend of the Golden Dolphins.
Tying the knot

A brand new chapter
2012 was about to change everything. Megan admitted she had always wanted to become a mother, and her dreams were about to come true as the couple welcomed their first son, Noah Shannon Green. Now, Megan was about to enter an entirely new phase of her life. It seemed as though her entry to motherhood was about to be reflected on the red carpet as Megan began to opt for much more subtle looks with natural-looking makeup.
Growing list of work
Although Megan now had her hands full with a growing family, the actress was determined to prove how she could still work and be there to support her husband and young son. In 2012, Megan continued to land roles in movies such as the black comedy The Dictator, and the comedy movie This Is 40. However, would all that work be about to take a toll on Megan’s appearance? Apparently not. She continued to transform as the actress adapted to any role she was handed.
Next biggest role
Megan was still riding the fame of Transformers when she was about to get offered another life-changing role. In 2014, the superhero movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hit the big screen. Although critics were quick to mock the reboot, the film was still able to bring home over $490 million at the box office thanks to the all-star cast, including Megan herself. It looked as though Megan wasn’t done with Hollywood just yet, and she was back bigger than ever.
Joining the family
2014 looked to be the next biggest stage in Megan’s life thanks to her growing career. To top it off, the actress and her husband, Brian, also welcomed their second son: Bodhi Ransom Green. The couple had the relationship that everyone wanted. That was until 2015 when it was announced they would be filing for a divorce. The dream was coming to an end. Still, Megan showed the world she was determined to power through like only she can.
Coming under question
In 2016, Megan made her return to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and even landed a huge role in the sitcom New Girl. Here, she got to play Reagan Lucas while her co-star Zooey Deschanel was on maternity leave. That was until Megan welcomed her own third child, Journey River Green. Although many fans had fallen in love with Megan’s new ombre hairstyle, others began to question whether the actress had undergone cosmetic surgery. It seemed as though she was suddenly making major transformations.
Overcoming the demons
It seemed as though everything was going well for the actress, but Megan was about to make some significant announcements that could change everyone’s views. Megan confessed she has always struggled with insecurities about her appearance and low self-esteem. So how has she coped? The star admits to turning to the church as a way to deal with the emotions. Megan was always raised in a religious household and uses her knowledge of speaking in tongues as a way to feel like part of a community.
Brand new start
Megan continues to work on a whole host of projects, including her up and coming series Mysteries and Myths with Megan Fox. However, that hasn’t stopped people from questioning whether she has gone under the knife. Some believe the actress has undergone nose surgery, while others feel as though Megan has opted for Botox, cheek fillers, and even eyelid surgery to make her eyes stand out even more than before. However, Megan denies any of these claims.
Continuing to work
To top it off, Megan has also been working on a range of movies due to be released in 2018 and ‘19. Some of her many releases include Zeroville, Think Like a Dog, and Battle of Jangsai-ri 9. 15, while the actress is still filming for Naya Legend of the Golden Dolphin. Although Megan continues to keep her many fans updated with her work, it seems as though she has become almost unrecognizable from the freckle-faced star that first graced the red carpet nearly two decades ago.
